Art and wine

A friend of mine used to be banker to many galleries in the West End as well as to numerous wine merchants. His observation, after many years of seeing them both at work, was that none of the gallery owners loved art: it was a commodity to be bought and sold, of some academic interest perhaps, but only of monetary value.

All the wine merchants, on the other hand, loved what they bought and sold.
