Beyond Meat

I had my first Beyond Meat burger this week. It was delicious. The texture and taste were good and it was like meat. Like is the best word as it tasted slightly different - but much less different than the burger you get in Macdonalds, which, lets face it, doesn’t taste much like meat. 

How can this not be the future given what we know about the profligacy of feeding cattle to be eaten and the effect on the environment? And this is before the developing world can afford to join the party. The same with milk. I had Oat Milk the other day and I would happily substitute it for the real thing. Again, it’s better to take it on its own merits - but you’d be hard pressed to tell the difference in coffee.
