Rain

It never stops raining in England. Right? Not quite. London is actually the sixth driest large city in Europe with 23.3 inches a year. The wettest is Zurich with 42.3 inches and the driest is Athens with 14 inches. Milan gets 39 inches. If you want to get wet in Britain, visit Swansea and enjoy their 53.4 inches. This seems right to me. Though the skies seem to be fifty shades of grey I can count the number of times a year that I have to wear waterproofs on my motorbike on barely two hands – though when it does rain they never get the chance to dry for days.

But give me the choice and I’ll take Milan.
